GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire dropped a conference doubleheader to Cornell on Wednesday evening.
Knox (7-13, 1-5 MWC) fell behind 2-0 after two innings in game one and a five-run fourth inning by the Rams led to an 11-1 loss. Cornell jumped out to a five-run lead after two innings in the nightcap, but the Prairie Fire showed some life late in the game with four runs. Cornell added on three more to earn the 8-4 victory.
Juston Woodard led Knox with four hits in seven at bats. He homered and drove in a pair. Spencer Bauer picked up a pair of hits, including a home-run. Tristan Hannah tallied three hits, while Dalton James and Billy Ballantine each earned a pair.
Knox will look to get back on track when they travel to Cornell on April 12.
