GRINNELL, Iowa—The Prairie Fire baseball team dropped a conference doubleheader at Grinnell on Saturday.

Knox (9-19, 2-11 MWC) fell behind early in game one after giving up a run in the first and seven more in the second to fall 11-0 in seven innings.

The Prairie Fire's bats came alive in game two as they scored twice in the first inning. The Pioneers quickly took control with four runs in the second and five in the third to take a 9-2 lead. Knox would not go down without a fight and answered back with three runs in the fifth and five in the sixth to knot the score at 10-10. Grinnell scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to conclude the scoring as they held on for the 13-10 victory.

Dalton James tallied four hits on the day to lead the Prairie Fire. Spencer Bauer knocked three hits, including a double and a home-run for a three RBI day. Juston Woodard, Paul Sanders, and Adam Brown each added two hits apiece. Woodard bashed a double and drove in a pair. Brendan Powers also added two RBI.

Knox and Grinnell will meet again on April 29 in Galesburg to conclude the season series.
