LAKE FOREST, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men's tennis team lost a match to Lake Forest 1-8 on Saturday.
Ajay Gustafson earned a 7-5, 6-3 victory over his Forester counterpart at #1 singles.
"My opponent played very well," said Gustafson. "It was a very close match. It came down to mental toughness. I pair my strengths against his weaknesses. After trial and error, it succeeded."
The team has already surpassed their individual game wins from last year by a sizable margin.
"I am so proud of these guys," said head coach Meredith Witherell. "We won a total of six games last year and we have already won 36 this season, plus a match. I couldn't ask for anything more from these guys."
Knox returns home on March 31 to battle conference foe Cornell.
