Box Score 2 KENOSHA, Wisconsin – The Prairie Fire baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Ripon on Saturday at Carthage College.

The Red Hawks took an early 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning in game one. Knox responded with a run in the top of the second, but Ripon answered right back with a run of their own in the bottom half. The Prairie Fire tacked on another run in the top of the fourth, but the Red Hawks added a pair in the bottom half. Knox rallied with two runs in the top of the fifth, but could get no closer and Ripon won 8-4.

The Red Hawks again plated four runs in the bottom of the first in game two, but the Prairie Fire knocked in three in the top of the second to cut the deficit to one. Ripon came right back with four more runs in the bottom of the third and two more in the fifth. The Red Hawks held on for a 10-5 victory.

Juston Woodard picked up four hits and four RBI on the day to lead the Prairie Fire. Brendan Powers and Kobe Shutter each added three hits. Shutter blasted a triple and Tristan Hannah and Ben Bucher each picked up doubles.

Knox returns to action as they host Illinois College on April 18.
