Softball Falls Twice at Eureka

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 EUREKA, Illinois—The Prairie Fire softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games on Tuesday afternoon at Eureka.

Knox struck first in game on with three runs in the top of the first inning. Eureka responded with a run in the bottom half and another in the second inning before breaking out with three runs in the third. The Red Devils then added a run in the fourth and five runs in the fifth to win 11-3.

In game two, Eureka picked up where they left off and scored three in the first inning and five in the second. The Prairie Fire scored a run in the third, but the Red Devils scored four in the fourth. Knox managed a run in the fifth, but it was too late and Eureka came away with the 12-2 victory.

Britney Salinas and Mady Ferris each collected three hits in the doubleheader to lead the Prairie Fire. Katy Coseglia also added a pair of doubles on the day and drove in two runs. Cammie Stein blasted a home-run in game two.

Knox travels to Wisconsin on April 13 and 14 to battle conference opponents Beloit and Ripon.
