KENOSHA, Wisconsin—The Prairie Fire men's soccer team earned their second victory of the season at Carthage on Friday night.
Knox scored early when Adetayo Adefioye found the back of the net in the seventh minute. The Prairie Fire took a 1-0 lead into halftime, but Nick Janulis scored his second goal of the season at the 60:32 mark to extend the lead. Jake Totty earned the assist.
The Red Men outshot Knox 13-7 in the game, but only managed one shot on goal. The Prairie Fire finished with five shots on goal.
"Scoring early is always dangerous," said head coach Brian O'Connor, "I thought we came out great, but after the first ten minutes they really put us under pressure. We regrouped at halftime and followed the game plan to perfection. I am very proud of our guys getting another road win against a highly talented Carthage side."
Knox will remain in Carthage on Saturday to take on Alma.
