Abby Ebener has been hired as the new assistant track and field and cross-country coach at Knox College.
"I'm excited to have Abby joining us!" said head coach Evander Wells. "She has a history of developing talent and is a proven leader, I have every confidence she will continue the momentum she has established over her career here at Knox."
Ebener comes from Waubonsee Community College and Central Community Unit School District. At Waubonsee, Ebener held the position of assistant cross-country coach in 2018 and then earned the title of head cross-country coach in 2019. In the Central Community Unit School District, Ebener was the head track and field coach from 2015 to 2020 and the cross-country coach from 2016 to 2018.
"I am thrilled for the opportunity to continue to grow and develop the cross-country and track & field programs at Knox College" said Ebener. "The team has been working incredibly hard these past five months while no one was watching, and I look forward to seeing the success of their hard work pay off this fall. Go Prairie Fire!"
Ebener earned her USTFCCCA endurance specialist certification in 2018 as well as her USATF level 1 certification. Ebener graduated from St. Ambrose University with a B.S. in Physical Education Training.
