GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire baseball team dropped a conference doubleheader to Grinnell on Sunday.
Before the games, Knox honored their seniors. Adam Brown, Davin Conway, Nick Piller, and manager Corey Schunke all celebrated their senior day.
The Pioneers won game one 9-2 and game two 10-3.
Kendall Ballman led the Prairie Fire with three hits on the day. Ben Rogina and Chris McTeague each added two hits. Brown bashed a double and came around to score in game two. Piller walked in his only at bat.
Conway was the tough luck loser in game one, giving up three earned runs in eight innings.
"We play very well at times," said associate head coach James Clark. "We had a few key errors and did not hit with runners on base today, that was the main difference in the games today. Good luck to our seniors as they embark on the next chapter of their lives."
