BELOIT, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire baseball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader at Beloit on Sunday.
Knox scored a run in the top of the first in game one, but the Buccaneers responded with two of their own in the bottom half. Beloit took a 4-1 lead in the second, but Knox came back with three in the third to tie the game up. The Buccaneers added a run in the bottom of the third, but Knox again tied the game in the top of the fourth. Beloit took charge from there with a nine run bottom of the fourth and they held on for a 19-5 victory in seven innings.
Knox again plated a run in the top of the first in game two, but the Buccaneers scored 19 unanswered runs to run away with a 19-1 victory.
Ben Rogina led Knox with three hits on the day and Matt Shover hit a home-run. Flynn Hersh and Braden Ogden each tallied two hits on the day as well.
"We showed real progress yesterday, but took a step back today," said associate head coach James Clark. "We need to learn to put a four-game series together."
Knox returns to action as they travel to Illinois College on May 5 for a conference doubleheader.
