INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Prairie Fire men's soccer team dropped a non-conference game to Simpson 2-1 on Tuesday night.
KG Mangoegape put Knox on the board in the 20th minute to give the Prairie Fire an early lead.
The Storm tied the game early in the second half and then scored the game-winner with just under four minutes left in the game.
Simpson outshot Knox 29-7 overall, including a 14-5 edge in shots on goal.
Joao Friere racked up 12 saves on the day, but eventually succumbed to the sheer number of shots.
"We played well overall," said head coach Kevwe Akpore. "Simpson is a very good team, they kept us on our toes all game. We had some momentum early, but nearly forced a tie despite getting outshot on the day."
The Prairie Fire return to action as they host Luther on September 9.
