WHITEWATER, WI - The Prairie Fire men's soccer team dropped a non-conference match-up to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 7-2 on Wednesday evening.
Whitewater scored first in the 16th minute of play. The Warhawks managed to score two more times before the end of the first half.
The Warhawks came out quick in the second half with a goal in the 47th minute. Whitewater led the Prairie Fire 4-0 with just over fifty minutes left to play.
Whitewater scored three more times, increasing their lead over the Fire 7-0.
In the 78th minute Arito Nakamichi put the Prairie Fire on the board with an assist from Juan Perez-Mejia.
Hassan Mango scored again for the Fire in the 83rd minute.
"Whitewater came out hot today, and unfortunately we just weren't able to keep up" said head coach Kevwe Akpore. "We waited too long to score, and by that time we were too far behind. But now we've gotten it out of our system, and we are looking ahead for our big match-up against Ripon."
The Prairie Fire will play their last regular season game at home against Ripon on October 28th.
