GRINNELL, Iowa — The Knox men's soccer team battled for 90 minutes with host Grinnell on Tuesday afternoon, but neither side could slip a shot past either goalkeeper as the game ended in a scoreless tie at Springer Field. The Prairie Fire are now 3-5-2 overall on the season and 0-0-1 after their Midwest Conference opener, while the Pioneers have tied half of their 10 games on the season with a 2-3-5 mark to go with an 0-0-2 record in league play.
Grinnell had the upper hand for a larger portion of the game, firing off 18 shots to just eight for Knox, with a 7-2 advantage on shots on goal. Fifth-year goalkeeper Nicolas Lantzendorffer saved all seven of those attacks for his second shutout of the season and 15th of his career.
