GALESBURG, Ill. — A blustery day raised the scores on the second and final day of the Knox College Invite with the host Prairie Fire wrapping up play in third place with a 635 (+59). Augustana took home the team title at 45-over par thanks in part to seeing its score drop on the second day, while Illinois Central College finished two strokes off the pace in second.
Junior Pranav Nandakumar shot the low round of the day for Knox with a 3-over 75 by making par on 13 holes and sinking a birdie as well. His performance today allowed him to tie his first-year teammate, Thomas Lyaudet, for fourth place on the individual leaderboard at 8-over par (152). Lyaudet entered the day in second, one stroke back, but carded a 7-over 79 in the windy conditions despite draining three birdies in his round.
Sophomore Nathaniel Zug contributed to the team score with an 11-over 83, sinking two birdies of his own along the way, and junior Gabriel Newman and first-year Diego Carrillo both were 12-over today with a birdie apiece.
Augustana's Drake Stoudt took home medalist honors at 5-over par, beating out ICC's Trey Boecker and Quinn Cox at 6- and 7-over, respectively.
The Knox men will return to the links in the spring.
