Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Prairie Fire Pack Jorge Prats Field for Fire Game

GALESBURG, IL - Knox came out in full support of the soccer team as they took on a tough Blugolds squad in a tune up contest before the Prairie Fire's last two conference matches.

Wisconsin Eau Claire came to town to take on the Prairie Fire, and the Blugolds were able to strike first early in the contest as they netted a quick goal in the 8th minute.

The Prairie Fire held strong throughout the rest of the first half, giving their offense a chance to find the equalizer. The Blugolds played a fast and disciplined brand of soccer, and they were able to deny Knox's two shots on goal in the first half and held a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

Diogo Pereira also made a pair of saves in the half before Alessandro Carlani came in for the second 45 minutes.

Carlani faced a barrage of shots on goal in the second frame as he made seven saves. Eau Claire took advantage of their set pieces in the second half and scored on two of them, and they tacked on one more goal to take a four goal lead.

The Prairie Fire saw a couple of good scoring chances in the second half, but were unable to beat the goalkeeper as the Blugolds came away with a 4-0 victory over Knox.

This was the final non-conference clash on Knox's regular season schedule, and they have two big matches left before they reach the postseason. On Saturday, Knox will host Monmouth at 2:00 p.m., and they will wrap up the regular season on the road at Lake Forest.
