DECATUR, ILLINOIS – The Knox College baseball team dropped a pair of games on Saturday, falling to Millikin 12-0 and Coe 7-3.
In the opener, the Prairie Fire fell to host Millikin, 12-0, in seven innings. After 2.5 scoreless innings, the Big Blue pounced on Knox for four runs in the third, six in the fourth, and two in the fifth.
Luke Mathieu led the offense with a pair of hits.
In the Coe game, Knox trailed 3-0 after six innings, but rallied in the seventh with a pair of runs. Coe answered with two runs in the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings.
Tyler Kemp and Andrew Garrett each had a pair of hits to pace Knox.
Knox is next in action on Tuesday, playing a pair of games at Eureka. Play starts at noon.
