The Knox College softball team dropped a Midwest Conference doubleheader on Saturday, falling at Illinois College 10-0 and 8-0 in Jacksonville. The Prairie Fire (8-24, 2-8) return to action on Sunday, hosting Cornell in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
In the second game, Illinois College jumped ahead 4-0 in the first inning, then added single runs in the second, third, fourth, and sixth innings.
Meanwhile, the Prairie Fire finished with one hit, coming from Taylor Goudschaal.Â
In the opener, Knox trailed 1-0 going into the bottom of the third. However, IC bats started cooking in the bottom of the third, scoring seven runs, and added two more in the fourth. Knox finished with three hits, with Lauren O'Neill, Kara Burwell, and Kylie Thomson each tallying one.Â
