GALESBURG, IL - After a scoreless first half, Coe drew first blood but Knox fought back before the two foes ended their nights with a 1-1 draw.
In the first 45 minutes of action each keeper made a pair of saves to keep the score knotted at zero heading into the break.
The second half started with a bang as Coe drew a penalty kick. Diogo Pereira stood tall making a brilliant save diving to his right on the penalty kick, but the linesmen called him for coming off his line and gave Coe another penalty kick. This time the Coe penalty kicker got his shot past Pereira and put the Kohawks up 1-0.
Knox evened up the scoreboard in the 49th minute as Jayden Plancarte launched a long pass to Kestervens Dera who headed it into the bottom left corner of the net.
Coe received a red card in the 66th minute, giving Knox a one man advantage for the final 24 minutes of play, but they were unable to take advantage of it and the two finished their match in a 1-1 draw.
Dera's goal was his fifth of the season.
The Prairie Fire will get a short break before returning to the pitch on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. when they will start their conference schedule with Ripon coming to town.
