MT. VERNON, IOWA - The Prairie Fire were able to respond to a first half goal from Cornell as Apostolos Karamperis knotted the game at one apiece, but neither team could get the game-winner as the two conference foes ended their match in a draw.
Cornell broke the scoreless tie in the 26th minute when they snuck a shot past Alessandro Carlani, but it did not take the Prairie Fire long to strike back.
Just 10 minutes later, Knox's Karamperis scored to tie the game off an assist from Santiago Henriques.
The two were all square at one goal heading into the halftime break, and stayed that way due to Carlani's performance in the net.
Carlani made six saves in the second half to keep Knox in search of the victory on the road, but they were unable to get much going as they only forced Cornell to make two saves in the last 45 minutes.
Karamperis's goal was his first of the season, tallying onto his four assists.
Seven saves marked Carlani's most in a game in his career at Knox as he was able to keep Knox fighting against Cornell.
On Wednesday, Knox will take on another conference opponent as they will travel to Beloit for an afternoon kickoff.
