GAME OPERATIONS
TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN: There is no official check in/meeting. However, as you arrive please make your way to the press box to collect a ball for every game you play. This will allow the head coaches to provide a ball for their starting pitcher during pregame warm-ups.
SCHEDULE/GAME TIMES: Game times are scheduled as follows: Friday at 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 5:00 pm; Saturday at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm; and Sunday at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 2:00 pm. Games will not start before the scheduled time unless both coaches agree and notify an on-site administrator.
Teams playing back-to-back games will have up to 20 minutes between games.
Each morning the staff will welcome everyone over the public address system prior to playing the National Anthem approximately five minutes before the first games begin.
RULES: Please refer to the Midwest Conference Code of Conduct Softball 7.06. Please note that the international tiebreaker rule will go into effect in the top of the 9th inning. The committee of officials will make all decisions regarding inclement weather.
DUG-OUTS/BULLPENS: Bullpens and electrical outlets in dugouts are only available on
the main field. There is ample room between fields for
pitchers to warm up.
WARM-UP AREAS: There are 2 sets of 3 nets on each side of the main field. There is
no set schedule for teams. We ask everyone to be
respectful of the shared space between teams and realize
that there may be a few teams needing/sharing that space.
PLEASE DO NOT allow players to:
1) Hit or throw balls into parking or fan areas.
2) Hit or throw balls into fences.
GAME ADMINISTRATION: Knox College will provide staff to keep the official book and operate the scoreboard.
SPORTS ADMINISTRATION: Knox College Sports Information Director Mike Perry will e-mail game files/box scores to the individual institutions and the Midwest Conference. Any media and other reporting will be the individual institution’s responsibility.
BALLS: Softballs will be provided in the press box on Friday. It is the home team’s responsibility to make sure that two balls per game are furnished.
FIELD MAINTENANCE: Fields will be prepped prior to each game. Please provide a safe environment for ground crew to work in an efficient manner.
