Shaved his times in every 8K as the season progressed … ran a 30:19.12 at the Midwest Conference Championship, and followed that up by breaking 30 minutes for the first time at the NCAA Regional (29:54.9).
2022
Season PR came at the Midwest Conference Championship where he ran the 8K in 30:35.76 … one of three Prairie Fire runners to compete at the NCAA Regional, crossing the tape in 30:48.0.

Earned two letters in cross country and track and field each at Pioneer High.

Son of Ken Varnum and Nieka Apell has one brother, Milo … born on Sept. 24, 2004 … favorite song is Backseat Lovers … came to Knox for the chance to run in college and for a liberal arts education.
