Led the team with six goals despite attempting only 11 shots, nine of which were on goal. In each of the first two contests of the season, he scored to help Knox earn a 2-2 tie, then put another one in the net to lift the Fire to a 2-1 win over Coe College. Thomas also provided the game-winner in a 3-1 win over rival Monmouth College in the first home night game in program history, and scored twice in a 4-0 blanking of Lawrence in the penultimate match. On the other end of the field, he was a key cog in the Knox defense that ranked third in fewest goals allowed (1.13 per game) in the conference.
