Academic All-Midwest Conference (Fall 2022)
2024
Appeared in 15 of the 18 contests, starting 13 on defense … provided first points of the season in the 5-2 win over Monmouth with an assist on the final tally … came up big in the regular-season final, scoring the game’s first goal in an eventual 2-2 with Ripon, sending Knox to the Midwest Conference Tournament.
2023
Played in 11 of the 17 games, starting nine … scored his goal in the 2-1 victory over Monmouth.
2022
Named to Academic All-Midwest Conference Team … saw action in 12 games, starting 11 … scored the lone goal in a 2-1 loss to North Park … tallied another goal in a 2-2 tie with Beloit … added the first goal of the Midwest Conference Tournament showdown with Lake Forest, but Knox ended up on the wrong end of a 4-3 overtime score.
2021
Played a large role in the team winning the Midwest Conference regular season and conference tournament, playing in all 19 games while starting 17 … assisted on both goals in a 2-0 triumph over Illinois Wesleyan for the first points of his career … notched his first career goal against Ripon, the game-winner in a 2-0 victory … added assists in the 2-0 win over Lake Forest and the first goal in the 2-0 victory in the MWC Championship game against Cornell.
HIGH SCHOOL
Four-year letterman in varsity soccer at Brentwood School … named the Gold Coast League MVP as a junior, helping team win the league and advance to the California state finals … also All-ICIF State First Team that year, and All-Gold Coast League First Team his final two seasons.
PERSONAL
Son of Saul Sanchez and Luz Olvera has one sister, Diana … born on Jan. 24, 2003 … studied Mandarin for three years … planning on going to graduate school for sports journalism and communications with a desire to start his own sports blog/podcast … also would like to get into coaching while playing USL 2 soccer … enjoys playing video games … came to Knox for the chance to study an area of interest while playing at the Division III level on a team with an abundance of international students, which is a unique opportunity to play with so many people from around the world.
