Jason Haynes has been with Knox in various capacities since 2009.  He took over the head coaching duties of the track and field teams prior to the 2011-12 season and he also serves as an assistant cross country coach in the fall.

During his time at Knox, Haynes’ athletes have broken 20 school records, earned nine All-Midwest Conference honors, won two individual event conference championships, and have added their names to Knox’s all-time top ten Lists hundreds of times.

A sprinter and jumper in his own track career, Haynes coaches the sprints, middle-distance, and high jump.  Haynes is a 2009 graduate of Illinois College, where he earned his B.A. in political science.  He competed in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track for the Blueboys, and won four varsity letters in each sport.  The IC squad that Haynes competed on was the most successful track team in school history, finishing second in the MWC Indoor Championships all four years of his career.

Haynes is a USATF Level 1 certified coach and has received a Sprints, Hurdles, and Relays Specialist Endorsement from the USTFCCCA.  He also recently finished a master's degree in sport management from Western Illinois University.
