Knox College Prairie Fire

Ashley Sims was named the head coach of the Prairie Fire softball team in June of 2009.  She was an assistant softball coach during the 2008 season and also served as the top assistant coach for the Prairie Fire volleyball team from the 2009-2012 seasons.

Sims accepted athletic scholarships from Lincoln College and started for both the softball and basketball teams at the two-year school before continuing her education at Monmouth College and Western Illinois University.

A multi-sport, all-conference athlete at Alexis High School, Sims played under legendary volleyball coach Donn Damos.  She assisted Damos with the volleyball squad at what became United High School for two years, helping the Red Storm win 62 matches against just 10 losses, claim two regional championships and one sectional crown during that time.

Sims has been an assistant coach for the Prairie Fire women's basketball team during her tenure at Knox as well.
