Lexie Vernon joined the Prairie Fire coaching staff for the 2019 season and is also the Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance, Budget and Internal Operations/Senior Woman Administrator. She assists with all aspects of the program and will work primarily with outfielders.

Vernon graduated from Lewis University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. She was a 4-year member of the Flyer softball team that made 4 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances from 2006-2010. Serving as team captain her senior year, she helped lead the team to a GLVC tournament championship. She is also a 4-year academic all-conference award recipient. Vernon went on to earn a master’s degree in Sport Management from Western Illinois University in 2012.

Vernon’s coaching experience includes serving on the Prairie Fire softball staff in both the 2012 and 2014 seasons. Prior to Knox, she spent 6 seasons as a head coach for the Lincoln-Way Blue Wave travel softball team, coaching the 12U through 18U levels.
