Knox College Prairie Fire

Puntoriero scored 28 points individually and contributed to another 11 to help lead the Prairie Fire men's team to a fourth place finish at the Beloit Relays on April 26 and 27. 

Puntoriero placed second in the 200 meter dash and the long jump, third in the 100 meter dash, and ran on the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams that secured top five finishes.

Puntoriero was actually first among competitors affiliated with college teams in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, securing 10 points in each event, to earn two gold medals.  He ran the fourth leg on the 4x100 relay team that placed third as well as the 4x400 relay team that finished fifth.

Puntoriero has the third-fastest 100 meter dash time in the Midwest Conference to date.  He finished the race at the Ashford Spring Invitational on April 6 in 11.06 seconds, which ranks as the eighth-fastest time in school history in the 100 meters.

Puntoriero also owns Knox outdoor track all-time top ten marks in the 200 meters, the 400 meters, and the long jump.  He’s the indoor track school record-holder in the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter dash, along with being part of the record-setting sprint medley and distance medley relay teams in 2012.

The Prairie Fire track and field teams conclude the regular season at the Fighting Scot Open hosted by Monmouth College on May 4.  The meet begins at 11:00 a.m.
