Knox College Prairie Fire

Bruce helped lead the Prairie Fire to wins over Illinois College, Millikin University, and Principia College at the Illinois College Invitational on November 9 in Jacksonville, Illinois.

She won two individual events, one in a new school record time, and was part of two first place relays.

Bruce won the 50 yard freestyle in 25.78 seconds, topping the previous fastest time of 25.89 seconds by Rachel Clark in 2012.  She also placed first in the 200 yard backstroke while swimming on Knox's winning 200 yard medley and freestyle relay teams.

Bruce, in her first college meet, set two new Lay Natatorium records in the Prairie Fire's season-opening victory against Eureka College on November 2.  She broke pool records in the 100 yard butterfly and the 200 yard IM that had stood since 1996 and 2000, respectively.  Bruce was named the Midwest Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week.
