Senior outfielder Erik Smoy is the recipient of yet another honor for his terrific performance in four straight Knox victories.

Smoy was recognized by D3baseball.com and theMidwest Conference after hitting .579 (11-for-19) with one home run and 14 RBIs.  He was also 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts and scored six runs as the Prairie Fire swept a pair of doubleheaders March 29-30 at Blodgett Field.

The third honor for Smoy is the Prairie Fire Performer of the Week award.

Smoy had three multi-hit games, including two with four hits, in the four contests.  He was 4-for-4 with six runs batted in and three runs scored in the second game of a doubleheader against Robert Morris University-Springfield on March 29.  Smoy capped off the weekend by going 6-for-11 at the plate against Beloit College on March 30.  He homered and drove in five runs against the Buccaneers' pitching staff while scoring three times and swiping three bases.

Smoy is batting .358 with 23 RBIs and seven stolen bases in seven attempts through the first 13 games of the season.
