Beloit College scored its first goal less than one minute into the Prairie Fire men's soccer team's home finale and cruised to a 7-2 Midwest Conference win Saturday at Jorge Prats Field.

The Buccaneers (7-7, 2-4 MWC) scored four goals in the first 90 minutes.  Sophomore Michael Gasparro (San Diego, California) scored his first goal of the season, assisted by junior Marcos Moreno (East Moline, Illinois), at the 14:05 mark of the match to pull the Prairie Fire a little closer, 4-1, at the break.

Beloit outshot the hosts 33-12 overall and 17-5 on goal.  Tom Slusher, Anthony Racine and Ryan Munger finished with two goals apiece for the Bucs.  First-year player Maxwell Gatyas (Plymouth, Wisconsin) scored the Prairie Fire's second goal of the match on a penalty kick at the 53:38 mark.

The Prairie Fire (2-14-1, 0-8 MWC) play the last match of the 2010 season Tuesday at Monmouth College at 3:30 p.m.  The match will be the home finale for the Fighting Scots (3-11, 2-5 MWC).

Saturday's contest at Jorge Prats Field was the last one at home for Prairie Fire senior George Abariotis (Park Ridge, Illinois) and was played during Homecoming on the Knox College campus.
