Junior Mia Savard (Menifee, California) played her best during the final regular season meet of the fall season, helping the Prairie Fire place fifth in the six-team Grinnell College Invitational Saturday in Grinnell, Iowa.

Knox finished with a team score of 453, 30 strokes ahead of sixth place MacMurray College. Host Grinnell College won the event, its first invitational title victory in the 17-year history of the Pioneer women's golf program.
Savard fired a season-low 83 at the Grinnell Golf and Country Club course. She finished in a tie for second place with Grinnell's Natalie Klee.
Madison Goodfellow of runner-up Mount St. Mercy shot an 82 for a first place finish individually.
Grinnell shot a team score of 346, seven strokes ahead of Mt. Mercy. Millikin University (368) was third, Monmouth College (374) fourth -- followed by Knox and MacMurray.
Sophomore Sarah Martin (Crown Point, Indiana) shot a 107 to tie for 29th individually. Junior Monica Price (Rochester, Illinois) carded a 114 and sophomore Lizzy Rodgers (Homewood, Illinois) finished with a 149.
The Prairie Fire plays next in the 2011 Midwest Conference Women's Golf Championships October 7-9 at the Rail Golf Course in Springfield, Illinois.
