The Fire came back from an early 3-0 deficit by scoring all five runs in the third and fourth innings to earn the season-opening win. Junior Bri Collishaw (Medford, Oregon) pitched effectively for Knox, which had five hits in the game. The loss dropped the Falcons to 3-2 on the season.

Knox suffered its first loss of the season while the Mustangs (1-3) picked up their first win of 2011. The Prairie Fire (1-1) resumes play March 16 against Macalester College (MN) and Fitchburg State for the second time in two days.

The Fire (1-2) dropped its second straight game in Florida, losing to the Scots (6-1). Knox tries to earn a split for the day when it plays Fitchburg State University for the second time on the trip.

The Prairie Fire rallied again to beat the Falcons. Knox overcame a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the fifth inning to defeat Fitchburg State for the second time in two days. FSU outhit the Fire 10-5. Knox got strong pitching performances from first-year players Anna Lemen (Cincinnati, Ohio), who started the contest, and Amber Eisha (South Wilmington, Illinois). Eisha helped preserve the victory by shutting down the Falcons (4-3) in the sixth and seventh innings. The Prairie Fire (2-2) takes March 17 off and plays twice March 18 against Bates College (ME) and Keene State College (NH).

Loras (2-7) and Trinity (2-0) handed the Prairie Fire (2-6) back-to-back losses in the final two games of the spring trip in Clermont, Florida. The Fire was scheduled to begin Midwest Conference play March 27 at Illinois College. The doubleheader with the Lady Blues, however, has been rescheduled -- because of cold weather -- for April 3 (1:00, 3:00 p.m.) in Jacksonville, Illinois.
The team travels to Mount Pleasant, Iowa March 29 for a doubleheader against Iowa Wesleyan College. The first game begins at 5:00 p.m. followed by the second contest at 7:00 p.m.
