Galesburg, IL – The only tournament to be hosted by the Prairie Fire this fall was stopped by inclement weather.
Golfers from 17 schools geared up to play in the Knox College Invitational on Friday, September 7 at Soangetaha Country Club. However, heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning twice forced players off of the golf course. A committee of coaches decided the conditions were not safe to continue and the meet was subsequently canceled.
No scores were kept.
The Prairie Fire resumes play on Saturday, September 8 at the Fighting Scots Invitational. The tournament at Gibson Woods Golf Course in Monmouth gets underway at 9:00 a.m.
