Eureka, Ill. – The Prairie Fire's season ended with a 5-0 loss at Eureka College on Sunday.

The teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader, but the second game was rained out and will not be rescheduled.

Knox was unable to get going offensively against the Red Devils, who allowed just one hit in the contest.

Eureka snapped a scoreless tie with two runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Only twice in the game did the Prairie Fire have a runner in scoring position.

Junior Rhiannon Neuville (Eugene, OR, South Eugene) walked to lead off the fourth and advanced to second base on a ground ball out.  A double-play ended the inning.  Junior Kayla Behrens (Moline, IL, Moline) led off the fifth with a single, and following a fly ball out, moved to second when junior Brittney Price (Wyoming, IL, Stark County) walked. The Red Devils recorded a strike out and a pop foul out to prevent any further movement on the base paths.

Eureka added three runs in the bottom of the sixth to conclude the scoring in the game.

Senior Amber Eisha (South Wilmington, IL, Gardner-South Wilmington) took the loss in the circle for Knox.  Eisha (4-13) pitched a complete game and allowed five runs on nine hits with five strikeouts and two walks.
