Sophomore
Lucas Sanchez (Sao Paulo, Brazil, Pueri Domus) put the Prairie Fire on the board just 4:44 into the game on an assist from senior
Charlie Harned (Webster Groves, MO, Clayton). At 22:38 senior
Abdulsalam Oganla (Lagos, Nigeria, The International Academy) added some cushion with an excellent bit of ball work to push the score to 2-0.
Knox added another goal after halftime when Oganla found senior
Nathaniel Logie (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, Queens Royal College) with a great pass.
Grinnell refused to give in, scoring two goals in the final four minutes, but the Prairie Fire held on to win.
"Credit the fight of Grinnell who made life difficult for us in the second half," said head coach Tyler Sheikh. "A lot of underclassmen learned invaluable lessons the last 5 minutes, but our performance up until that point was something we can be proud of. 3 points for a win is 3 points for a win."
Knox will travel to Illinois College on September 22 looking to remain undefeated. The game will start at 7:30 p.m.
