GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie with defending Midwest Conference champion Lake Forest on Saturday, Knox's second straight tie in conference play.
Knox (7-1-2, 1-0-2 MWC) currently sits in third place in the conference standings behind St. Norbert and Ripon.
Lake Forest scored first in the 14
th minute, but the Prairie Fire answered back at 31:05 with a goal from
Jen Crary (Mission Viejo, CA, Capistrano Valley). Knox again surrendered the lead less than two minutes later, going into the half trailing 2-1.
Last week's hero,
Sarah Texter (Redlands, CA, Redlands East Valley), came through again in the second half to tie the game at two apiece.
Devan Griffin (Highlands Ranch, CO, Stem School) picked up the assist on the play.
Neither team scored in the final 53 minutes. Knox goalie
Sierra Daniger (Colorado Springs, CO, Air Academy) racked up nine saves in the game.
Knox will play at home against Alverno College on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
