Women's Soccer Shuts Down Blackburn

Fire move to 2-1 on season

GALESBURG, Illinois—Knox had plenty of looks in Sunday's 5-0 win against Blackburn College and improved to 2-1 on the season.

Sophomore Jacqlynn Milligan (St. Louis, MO, Visitation Academy) opened the scoring at the 11:59 mark with her first goal of the season. First-year Jen Crary (Mission Viejo, CA, Capistrano Valley) followed with a goal at the 28:40 mark to make it 2-0, a lead the Prairie Fire maintained at the intermission.

First-year Yvette Rodriguez (Ontario, CA, Rancho Cucamonga) added two goals in the second half before first-year Haley Archuleta (Salt Lake City, UT, Highland) got in the scoring column in the 84th minute.  The goals for Crary, Rodriguez, and Archuleta were the first of their careers.

The Prairie Fire outshot the Beavers 42-2 in the game and managed 19 shots on goal. First-year goalies Sierra Daniger (Colorado Springs, CO, Air Academy) and Annie Gerdes (Frankfort, IL, Lincoln-Way East) combined for the shutout.

Knox will play at home Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in defense of the Ferris Trophy. The Prairie Fire will look to remain perfect in the fourth annual rivalry match against MacMurray College.
