GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's soccer team claimed victory over Monmouth 7-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Knox (11-0-1, 3-0 MWC) defeated Monmouth for the first time since 2001 and did so in resounding fashion. Briana Quintana put Knox on the board at the 10:09 mark. Jessica Petersen and Kayla Brown both added goals in the first half, but the Fighting Scots answered with a goal of their own late in the first half to go into halftime trailing 3-1. Knox added four more goals in the second half to put Monmouth away. Brown added her second goal and Yvette Rodriguez, Cayne Randle, and Patricia Turner each added a goal.
Knox hosts Illinois College on October 5 to continue Midwest Conference action.
