LAKE FOREST, Illinois—The Prairie Fire football team took a loss at Lake Forest on Saturday.
Knox (1-7, 1-5 MWC) fell behind early when the Foresters scored less than four minutes into the game. Lake Forest added another touchdown at the 6:18 mark to take a 13-0 lead. The Prairie Fire responded with a Wes Koerber field goal with two minutes remaining in the first quarter, but the Foresters answered with their third touchdown before the end of the quarter. Lake Forest added two touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 34-3 lead into halftime

The Foresters picked up where they left off with a score just 1:13 into the third quarter.
Matt McCaffrey (Wilmette, IL, New Trier) picked up a rushing touchdown to close the gap to 41-10, but Lake Forest added two more scores to take a 55-10 lead.
Kobe Shutter (Kankakee, IL, Bishop McNamara) found
Dalton James (Homer, IL, Heritage) for a touchdown to finish the scoring.
McCaffrey completed 14-of-26 passes for 123 yards and gained 87 yards on the ground. James hauled in five passes for 46 yards, while
Joey Auger (Rye, NH, Portsmouth) grabbed five receptions for 50 yards.
Logan Hollis (Toulon, IL, Stark County) led the Knox defense with 10 total tackles and an interception.
Donnye Sommerville (Clayton, MO, Clayton) picked up seven tackles, including a forced fumble.
The Prairie Fire return home on November 5 to take on Lawrence.
