Women's Soccer Ends Season at WashU

ST. LOUIS, Missouri—The Prairie Fire women's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season in a tough NCAA Tournament first round matchup with #8 Washington University on Saturday.

Knox (19-1-1) fell behind early as the Bears found the back of the net in the third minute. The Prairie Fire held their own for much of the first half until WashU scored again near the end of the 42nd minute. The Bears took a 2-0 lead into halftime and scored again at the 67:43 mark to close out the scoring.

Goalkeeper Sierra Daniger faced 15 shots on goal recording 12 saves on the day, both season highs.

Knox fought valiantly, but the returning runner up from last year's NCAA Tournament proved too much for them. The Prairie Fire proved they belong on the national stage and will look to continue their growth towards being a perennial NCAA Tournament contender.
