EUREKA, Illinois—The Prairie Fire lost to Eureka twice on Monday afternoon.
Knox (0-10) lost 18-5 in the first game after giving up 10 runs in the first two innings. The Prairie Fire and Red Devils were scoreless after three innings in the nightcap before Eureka erupted for three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Knox stormed right back to take their first lead of the day at 5-3. The Red Devils chipped away at the lead scoring another run in the fifth. Knox responded with a run of their own in the top of the sixth, but a three-run bottom half for the Red Devils proved enough for the win.

Dominique Scott (Oak Park, IL, Oak Park & River Forest) went 3-for-7 in her first action of the year while
Chelsey Howard (Galesburg, IL, Galesburg),
Alannah Sanchez (Espanola, NM, McCurdy), and
Emily Stevenson (Tinley Park, IL, Andrew) each had two hits. Stevenson led Knox with three RBI on the day, while Sanchez added two.
The Prairie Fire will host their home opener on March 30 against Mount Mary at 3:00 pm.
