GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's soccer team came through in overtime to remain perfect on the season.
Knox (7-0) defeated Fontbonne when
Jessica Petersen (Brooklyn Park, MN, Champlin Park) broke away just minutes into overtime for a goal. It was her sixth goal of the season. The Griffins played spectacular defense to hold the Prairie Fire scoreless through two periods despite getting outshot 17-7 overall. Knox had some open looks throughout the game, but could not capitalize until the end.
Goal keeper
Sierra Daniger (Colorado Springs, CO, Air Academy) notched four saves to earn the clean sheet, her fourth of the season.
Knox will travel to Coe on Sunday to face perhaps their toughest matchup yet.
