Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls to No. 23 University of Chicago

GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men's soccer lost for the first time this season on Wednesday night.

Knox (2-1) faced No. 23 University of Chicago and gave up their first goal of the season.

"All credit to Mike and Pat with the work they've done assembling and preparing a fine University of Chicago team," said head coach Tyler Sheikh. "They're national title contenders for a reason and although we competed we feel we could have done better in bits of the game when we had the ball."

The Maroons were able to get 14 shots off to the Prairie Fire's five, but goal keeper Justin Dunn (Wilmette, IL, New Trier) and the Knox defense again played well only giving up the one goal.

"In the end, a lot to learn for us as we move forward," added Sheikh. "It doesn't get any easier as we focus in on Luther and Wartburg."

Knox travels to Iowa this weekend to try their luck in the IIAC.
