Men's Soccer Outlasts Tough Lake Forest Squad

LAKE FOREST, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men's soccer team kept their perfect conference record intact with a 1-0 victory over Lake Forest.

Knox (13-2-3, 8-0-0 MWC) and the Foresters played scoreless for over 70 minutes before the Prairie Fire broke through with a goal from Lucas Sanchez in the 74th minute. Jun Min picked up the assist.

"Two minutes into the game I said to Brian, 'I like what Dan is doing.'  They came right at us," said head coach Tyler Sheikh. "I've always respected Lake Forest's efforts to play soccer the way it's intended and this year's edition is no different with the fine players they have. This was a very physical battle, but amongst the choppy play were some great movements from each side.  In the end we made one more play today away from home so hats off to the guys."

Knox will battle St. Norbert on October 28 in another tough road matchup to see who will host the Midwest Conference tournament.
