PELLA, Iowa—The Prairie Fire women's basketball team dropped a contest to Central 85-53 on Friday night.
Knox (7-4) stormed out to an 11-5 lead midway through the first quarter and led 16-14 after one stanza. The first half of the second quarter was back-and-forth, but the Dutch began to pull away and led 39-29 by halftime. Central stayed hot in the second half and soon built up a 20-point lead.
Hailey Leinart led the Prairie Fire with 16 points thanks to a 4-for-7 showing from beyond the arc. Morgan Potter added nine points and 10 rebounds. Kyra Huffman poured in eight points and grabbed six boards.
Knox returns home on January 2 to resume their conference slate in a battle with Lawrence University.
