GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire Men's Basketball team suffered a loss in their final game of the season. Knox (2-21, 2-16 MWC) played a high energy game against Ripon (18-5, 14-4 MWC) but still turned out on the wrong side by a final score of 85-66.
Deandre Weathersby (Chicago, IL, Kenwood Academy) took full advantage of his final game in the purple and gold scoring 14 points after earning the start.
Jonathan Damota (Miami Springs, FL, Miami Springs) added another quality scoring game with 15 points and
Marcellis Davis (Chicago, IL, Curie) scored eight points, grabbed three rebounds and dished out three assists in his final game at Knox.
The Prairie Fire will say goodbye to 5 seniors after the season: Weathersby, Davis,
Liam Nash (Nashville, TN, University School of Nashville),
Robert Suntken (Naperville, IL, Naperville Central), and
Danny Mateling (Grayslake, IL, Grayslake North). The future's looking bright for the Fire as they will return 3-4 regular starters next year.
