GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire softball team dropped a doubleheader to Eureka on Tuesday afternoon.
Knox (1-25) played close with Eureka through most of game one, but a six-run fifth inning by the Red Devils sealed the game 12-4. Game two came down to another six-run inning for Eureka and they won 9-0.
Emily Stevenson (Tinley Park, IL, Andrew) and
Katy Coseglia (Willowbrook, IL, Hinsdale Central) led the Prairie Fire with three hits on the day. Stevenson also drove in a pair of runs.
Chelsey Howard (Galesburg, IL, Galesburg) and
Kyleigh Guthals (Clovis, NM, Clovis) each added two hits and two runs scored.
Knox will host Robert Morris-Springfield on April 27 in a continuation of a previously rained out doubleheader.
