GALESBURG, Illinois – The Knox College athletic department capped off the 2016-17 Prairie Fire sports season with the annual awards banquet to recognize student-athletes for outstanding achievement, both on and off the field – or court.
The Lincoln Room hosted a large gathering Wednesday night as members of the coaching staff announced the award recipients. Athletic Director Chad Eisele congratulated the group for a record-breaking year that included 23 new school records.
David Agar Athletic Service Award          Â
Awarded to the person or persons with the most outstanding contributions to athletics in a non-competitive capacity. Â

Evelyn Bielefeldt Award          Â
Given to the senior female student-athlete with the most outstanding career in intercollegiate athletics. Â
Madeline Bruce
John W. Hilding Prize          Â
Given to the senior male student-athlete with the most outstanding career in intercollegiate athletics.
Drake Sykes
Jeff Sandburg Mental Toughness Award          Â
Given to the senior student-athlete who is judged to have dealt most effectively with adversity during his or her Knox career. Â

Cleave Bridgman Trophy          Â
Awarded to the male student-athlete selected as the "outstanding performer in an individual sport" in a given year.
Malik Hamilton

Michel Loomis Award          Â
Awarded to the female student-athlete selected as the "outstanding performer in an individual sport" in a given year.

Dean Trevor Memorial Award          Â
Given to the senior male student-athlete who exemplifies the traits of Dean Trevor. Â Those include competitive excellence, integrity, honesty and commitment to scholarship.
