Men's Soccer Rolls Over Beloit

GALESBURG, Illinois— Scoring goals has not been a problem for the Prairie Fire men's soccer team lately as they completed a perfect weekend after defeating Beloit College 5-0.

Knox (7-2-2, 2-0 MWC) played a slow first half but exploded for five goals after halftime. Two goals came off penalty kicks, one from Erick Karkut and the other courtesy of Alessandro Isoardi. Each of the other three goals involved Jun Min in some way. Min scored the first and last goals of the match and assisted on a goal by Pedro Moura. The Fire defense played tremendously once again as the Bucs were held to just one shot, which was not on goal.

"Not much to say, we always have trouble with a well organized Beloit side. In the end, a bit of Jekyll and Hyde, but five goals in the second stanza shows what we can do when we are in the mood," said head coach Tyler Sheikh. "Proud of 6 out of 6 points to start conference play. We will continue to rely heavily on our senior leaders moving forward, with an always fun contest looming at Monmouth on Saturday."

Knox will look to carry their momentum into their next matchup at Monmouth College on September 30.
