Men's Soccer Takes Down Blackburn

CARLINVILLE, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men's soccer team defeated Blackburn 4-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

Knox (2-1-1) scored two quick goals in the first ten minutes to put the game away early. They added another before halftime to take a 3-0 lead. The Beavers scored early in the second half, but the Prairie Fire would score again to cruise to a 4-1 victory.

Erick Karkut, Nick Janulis, Gavin Douglas, and Joey Dorgan each scored goals for Knox. Lucas Sanchez assisted on two of the goals, while Raphael Adeyemi and Lawal Quadril each earned an assist. Head coach Tyler Sheikh said, "Some individuals might be disappointed they didn't bag themselves some more goals, but midweek road wins are midweek road wins."

"Always a pleasure playing a Rob Steinkuhler coached team. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better guy in our coaching ranks," added Sheikh. "I know my guys won't be given an inch in these games and it's the type of out of conference game that prepares for some Midwest Conference battles."

Knox will to Milwaukee this weekend to battle Franklin and Wisconsin Lutheran.
