MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - The Prairie Fire men's basketball team was able to go point for point with Cornell in the second half of this Midwest Conference matchup. However, it was not enough to gain back the ground they had lost in the first half and ultimately fell to the Rams 67-53. Knox falls to 0-6 in conference play after this loss.
 
Deryk Ruple led the Fire in scoring on the afternoon, netting 14 points while also recording three steals. DJ Lewis was shortly behind with 13 points and two steals. Blake Godbold also pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the team.
 
The Fire will take a few days off before taking on Beloit College at home on January 12.
